Is it safe to swallow my partner's vaginal fluid?

I am lesbian and during sex, I always swallow the liquid from my partner vagina. But now I am starting to worry… is this dangerous for my health? Does the action of swallowing this liquid have long-term consequences on my health? My partner cleans herself with antibacterial soap, but my question is related to the liquid that comes out during an orgasm. Thank you for answering my question

Hi Amira,

It’s great to hear from a woman who knows what she likes, and seeks out the information she needs to enjoy it safely! To set your mind at ease, neither vaginal fluid (the liquid women always produce when they’re sexually excited) nor female ejaculate (the liquid that some women squirt during orgasm from particularly intense G-spot stimulation) have any negative health effects by themselves, so you can swallow without any problem. Just be sure you’re not swallowing any virus or bacteria with them.

In other words, the only problem would be if your partner has a sexually transmitted infection (STI). It’s possible to contract a wide variety through oral sex, so it’s a good idea to get tested regularly. Bacterial infections can be cured with antibiotics if you catch them early enough, and if you’re vaccinated for Hepatitis B it’s no longer a concern. Human papilloma virus (HPV) and herpes (also a virus) can also be passed on, especially if you have any sores in your mouth. If you both test negative, you know that your partner doesn’t have another partner and doesn’t share needles, there’s no danger. If you want to reduce your risks, you can use a dental dam or non-microwavable saran wrap to spread over her vulva and create a barrier.

Thank you for asking us this question!

Have a good day,
