Célébrations LGBTA Montreal: living proof of a proud and active community
Last spring, Divers/Cité which has been organising for 14 years the Gay Pride festivities in Montreal decided to no longer include the famous gay pride Parade and its Community day as part of its activities. Following this decision, community groups and associations from all over Montreal joined forces to save in extremis these events. They created a new group, Célébrations LGBTA Montreal, which will hold the gay pride parade and the community day on July 28 and 29th 2007.

InterPride’s history goes back to 1981, when a few lesbian and gay pride organizers in the United States realized that they could solve some of the difficult problems faced by their individual organizations by working together. Today, InterPride has over 120 member organizations, representing 24 countries from 6 continents promoting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender pride on an international level.
