Team of volunteers

AlterHeros relies on its many teams of volunteer to provide all of its services.  Here is a overview of each team.  If you are interested in volunteering with us, make sure to visit our “Become a volunteer” page to find out all the details and procedure to follow.

Animation Team

Do you enjoy interacting with people? Do you like to participate in event management? Do you feel adequate to conduct workshops? Then join our Animation team! Its responsibility is to ensure the wellbeing of all of our volunteers, including training, orientation and recrutement.  This team also manages and runs the AlterHeros Retreats that take place three to four times a year. Leading group discussions, promoting respect towards each other and ensuring a better interactivity between volunteers… are some of the tasks for which we need your help!

Web development Team

Are you knowledgeable in web programming and graphics design? If you are a programmer, webmaster or have computer skills, you can join our Internet development team.  Do you like fast information and feel that you are up to the challenge? AlterHeros looks forward to putting your skills to use in the development of its Internet portal and its other resources.

Outreach Team

Do you like to come to assistance of others, to listen to them and offer your support and advices? Several youth, families, and youth workers need your advices and your listening skills. AlterHeros offers an excellent way to make a difference while meeting a crowd of interesting people. Join to our outreach team to develop your skills in outreach, counseling and social work. Composed of volunteers with a spirit for journalism, this team is responsible for writing, translating and publishing articles of all kinds: news, culture, health, sexuality as well as interviews and editorials. There is no taboo on AlterHeros.com: almost all subjects are welcomed! This team offers the possibility of publishing your texts on a site viewed by hundreds of visitors each day.

Promotion Team

Are you a people person? Would you like to become one of our ambassadors? Help us organize kiosks of information, participe in pride days, join community, cultural and education events. Be part of our promotion team and help us be known while meeting fun and new people! Or do you rather stay home?  You can join this team and help promote AlterHeros online through sharing links and meeting other web users on other social networks.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is at the heart of AlterHeros. This team meets one a month and ensures the well functioning of all our services. It is composed of the President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, Administrator as well as a representative of each team.  All directors are elected by our members at the AlterHeros annual general assembly.
